Did anyone notice that the now "Green" Oscar's the star of conspicuous consumption, noms and gives "Gold" ( should have been Bamboo ) to Al all the while Cadillac ( bigeer is better )was the sponsor? Why didn't Ellen "old soft shoe" Degeneres take a stab at that? Thank you Al for waking up the world. Hollywood you are so "green" girl. Pass the Prada.

I'm happy for Martin. I love him and his talent and films and felt his pain for always getting trounced by the more popular king "jock" of Hollywood the Clint Man. Martin was always like the nerd genius in high school and Clint was captain of the football team dating the head cheerleader. I was yelling at the screen over Aviator "No ! No ! NO !" and others before but sorry, Departed is the most derivative, flat, sad film Scorsese ever made.

Once again the Oscar goes to not the one who deserved it most for this year's Best Film but for the one who needs to be honored most for not getting it before when one truly deserved it.

Alan Arkin and I " go way back" but snubbing Eddie on this one...c'mon. Like he said in his Babawawa interview.. he just isn't great on playing the Hollywood game and it cost him tonight. And it's hard because Arkin's performance displayed incredible acting chops and insight but Eddie was in another world. He just didn't pay his Hollywood dues. Now the question is will he follow up and work harder like Spielberg did so they can't ignore him next time around? I think we will have a long time to wait for that. BUt ever Eddie does it will be worth it.

I am in complete agreement over Children of Men! I can barely remember the last time I saw a movie that had such an impact and I enjoyed to such a degree. To see it so completely disregarded is not only insulting but a crime against the film industry as a whole! I say we go egg Universal; big rotten eggs!

"If anyone besides Scorsese wins this race they will forever be the Michael Caine who stole Burt Reynolds’ only shot at Oscar gold."

You mean Burt Reynolds had another chance at an Oscar besides "Boogie Nights" (which everyone thought he had in the bag until Matt Damon and Ben Affleck opened the envelope and shouted "ROBIN WILLIAMS!")?

Completely agreed. Unfortunately, Universal hated the movie and barfed the movie into multiplexes. Children had easily one of the worst marketing campaigns of the year. The Shaggy Dog looked better that Children of Men, and The Shaggy Dog was a dog bowl of ass. If Children of Men were an actual child, Universal would have slapped it around like a red-headed stepchild.

Children of Men needs an awards hug.
